Please read the below before coming.

The Niseko Rules are the official rules for the area created to ensure the safety of those skiing outside the controlled ski areas and all users of the ski resort.

  • No one may enter "Strictly Off-limits Areas", for whatever reason.

Yu No Sawa and Haru No Taki are "Strictly Off-limits Areas" as per Niseko Rules. Those found skiing in these two canyons will have their lift tickets confiscated.

  • Ducking ropes is prohibited

Do not pass under any ropes. Doing so will result in lift ticket confiscation. Guests must leave through the gates (exits to national parks) designated in the Niseko Rules when leaving areas controlled by the resort.

  • No safety measures are taken for areas not controlled by the resort

Areas outside those controlled by the resort, including the summit of Niseko Annupuri, are national or prefectural forests or parks and are not managed by the resort. As per Niseko Rules, any skiing outside of controlled areas or climbing to the summit is dangerous and is done at your own risk.

  • No entry into non-controlled areas will be allowed when gates are closed.

Based on Niseko Rules, the resort will close such gates on days when highly dangerous conditions are expected.

  • Niseko avalanche information

"Niseko avalanche information" is official information part of the Niseko Rules. This information can be found at lift stations, access gates, or on the Internet.

  • Search and rescue costs for non-controlled areas

Any costs incurred in conducting search and rescue operations in non-controlled areas will be charged to the individual based on Niseko Rules.

  • Resort and mountain patrol

Whether inside or outside areas controlled by the resort, Niseko Rules require all resort guests to comply with instructions given by the Resort Patrol and Shiribeshi Mountain Patrol.

  • About the Niseko Rules
